Ceremony to Celebrate the Reopening of the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum

On Friday, November 21, the governor attended a ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.

At the ceremony, the governor explained that the Teien Art Museum had been refurbished and restored to bring it closer to its original condition. The new annex was not only designed to maintain harmony with the main building, but also to house two new exhibition rooms. He expressed his hopes that in the future, the Teien Art Museum would soon be able to broaden its potential to the fullest, and effectively combine these exhibition spaces and the historical main building to hold exhibits that are not bound by a genre or period.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum reopened after undergoing approximately three years of major renovation work. The new annex has a new café and museum gift shop. In addition, to enable visitors from other countries to enjoy the museum grounds, the museum has created a multi-language application for smart phones and also set up a Wi-Fi environment.
