Policy Speech by the Governor of Tokyo, Koike Yuriko, at the Third Regular Session of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, 2023
In opening the third regular session of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly in 2023, I wish to relate my basic stance on future metropolitan administration.
Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly member Suzuki Kinji passed away on June 18. Tokyo Honorable Citizen Fukuhara Yoshiharu passed away on August 30. I would like to extend my deep condolences to their families. May they rest in peace.
- Protecting the lives and assets of Tokyo residents by shoring up preparations for situations such as disasters
- Promoting new urban development through Tokyo Green Biz
- Pushing ahead concrete actions to realize a net zero society
- Generating innovation to rise above the global competition
- Evolving further into a city brimming with excitement and vitality
- Guiding the World Athletic Championships and the Deaflympics to success, with the trust of Tokyo and Japan residents
- Raising the children who are our future
- Toward a society where everyone can display their individuality and abilities and no one is left behind
