Viewing the Toyosu Market Tuna Wholesale Market Auctions
from the Tuna Auction Observation Deck

We would like to inform you that the observation deck for viewing tuna auctions at Toyosu Market is accepting applications by the public for a market tour.

Visitors accepted

Up to 120 visitors per day in 10-minute shifts.

Application process

(1) Applying for the tour

If you wish to take part in the tour you must first submit an application through the site listed below. If there are a large number of applicants, participants will be chosen by lottery. Those who do not have internet access can apply using the phone number below.

*Those not chosen by the lottery can view the auctions from the Visitor’s Walkway on the second floor.

(3) Application schedule

For the month of March 2019:
from 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019
(No longer accepting applications for January and February)

*In early March, the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market website will post notifications for April 2019 and later.

(4) Application results

About a week after the application deadline, an email notification will be sent to those who have been selected for the tour. Notifications will be sent in English to those that applied via the English website. For those who applied by phone, the automated recording will give information on when to redial the same phone number to learn the selection results.

(5) Obtaining a tour ticket

Those who applied online and were chosen should show the screen with the acceptance email or print out the email and bring it with you. This will be your “Tour Ticket.”

Those who applied by phone and were chosen should follow the steps below for their Tour Ticket.

  • You will be given a number (haraikomi-hyo-bango) when you call the number you used to apply for the tour.
  • You will have one week from 6:00 p.m. of the day the results are announced to visit any 7-Eleven convenience store and inform the staff of your haraikomi-hyo-bango. They will issue you a Tour Ticket. Please bring that on the day of your tour. This service is free.

On the day of the tour

(1) Where to meet

Toyosu Market Block 7 Management Facilities Building 3rd floor, Promotional Corner

(2) What to bring

Bring your “Tour Ticket” and photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport.
*Your Tour Ticket and photo ID will be checked on registration.
Please understand that if you do not bring these items, you will not be able to participate in the tour.

(3) Meeting time

5:30 a.m.

(4) Tour duration

From 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 a.m.
*Visitors will view the auction in 10-minute shifts.
The tour will be conducted in Japanese.

Handling of personal information

Jtb Communication Design has been commissioned to handle the operations of the tour application process. The personal information collected when you applied will be carefully handled and only used for selection of tour participants and identification on the day of the tour. Data will be properly disposed of after use.

Note

There are no car or bicycle parking spaces for visitors to Toyosu Market. Please use public transportation, such as the Yurikamome Line. Drivers and tour bus operators should refrain from parking along the roads surrounding the market.
