ロンドン・ベルリン出張（ロンドン市長と面会・会場視察）
Official visit to London and Berlin (Meeting with the Mayor of London and inspection of London Olympic venues)
平成26（2014）年10月27日（月曜）から11月2日（日曜）まで、ベルリン市とロンドン市を訪問しています。今回の訪問は、友好都市提携20周年となるベルリン市から招待を受け、ベルリン市長と面会し、お互いの都市に共通する課題について幅広く意見交換をして、両都市の一層の関係強化を図るものです。また、この機会を利用してロンドンを訪問し、オリンピックパークを中心とした2012年ロンドンオリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会の競技施設を視察し、ロンドン市長とも面会して、2020年東京大会の参考にすることも目的にしています。その他、チャタムハウス（王立国際問題研究所）での講演や、金融街シティでは金融関係者との意見交換会を行う予定です。
28日（火曜）は、2012年ロンドン大会のメイン会場であったオリンピックパーク等を視察し、ボリス・ジョンソン ロンドン市長と面会しました
市長と一緒に取材に応じた知事は、記者団に対し、「今日、オリンピックの施設、レガシーを見せていただきました。大変素晴らしいオリンピックレガシーで、大会が終わった後にどう利用するかということをよく考えていて、大変参考になりました。また、ロンドンと東京の間で、協力関係を進めていきたいという話もジョンソン市長としました。良い友好関係の絆を築きたいと思います」と話しました。
Governor Masuzoe is on an official visit to Berlin and London Monday, October 27 through Sunday, November 2. Invited by the City of Berlin to mark the 20th anniversary of the friendship city relationship with Tokyo, the purpose of this visit is to meet with the Mayor of Berlin, exchange a wide range of views on common challenges, and further strengthen the relationship between the two cities. In addition, the governor will use this opportunity to visit London to inspect venues of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, centering mainly on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, meet with the Mayor of London, and gain expertise to use as a reference for the Tokyo 2020 Games. Other plans for the governor’s visit include giving a lecture at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, and participating in a roundtable discussion with professionals from the world of finance at the City, London’s financial center.
On Tuesday, October 28, the governor toured the main venue of the London 2012 Games, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and other facilities, and met with London’s Mayor Boris Johnson.
Responding to questions from the media with Mayor Johnson, the governor said, “Today, I had the opportunity to see Olympic facilities and the post-Games legacy created. This is really a wonderful Olympic legacy. How the facility would be used after the Games was very well thought out, and I learned a great deal. In addition, I also spoke with Mayor Johnson about my hope to advance the cooperative relationship between Tokyo and London. I hope that we can build even stronger ties of friendship.”
