国際パラリンピック委員会会長が知事を訪問
International Paralympic Committee President visits the governor
平成26（2014）年10月16日（木曜）、都庁を訪れたフィリップ・クレイヴァン国際パラリンピック委員会（IPC）会長と面会しました。
知事は、「パラリンピックは、世界最大の障害者のスポーツの祭典として、障害者に対する理解を促進するとともに、私たち東京のバリアフリー化を含めてソフト、ハード両面で社会的に障害者に優しい街をつくるのに、大変大きな意義を持つ祭典だと思っています。ハード面だけではなくて、皆さんが心のバリアフリーを持ち、困っている人、障害のある人がいたら社会で支えるということを厚生労働大臣の時にスタートさせましたので、今後は都知事としてその政策を更に進めたいと思います。2020年のパラリンピック大会を史上最高の大会にしたいという大きなアンビション（志）でやっていますので、クレイヴァン会長をはじめ、皆様方のご協力を心からお願いしたいと思います」と話しました。
On Thursday, October 16, Sir Philip Craven, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.
At the meeting, the governor said, “I believe that the Paralympics, the world’s biggest sports event for the disabled, is of great significance for promoting public understanding of the disabled as well as for making Tokyo a city friendly to those with disabilities from both structural and non-structural aspects, including barrier-free access. When I was the minister of health, labour and welfare, I started a program for encouraging a “barrier-free” attitude, with the aim of enabling not only infrastructure but society as a whole to support people with disabilities and people needing help. Now, I hope to move the effort forward as the governor of Tokyo. I have the big ambition of staging what will be the best-ever Paralympic Games in 2020. Your kind cooperation will be greatly appreciated.”
