Governor hosts luncheon for IOC Coordination Commission members
平成26（2014）年6月26日（木曜）、「第1回IOC調整委員会会議」の2日目、東京産の食材による知事主催昼食会を開催しました。
昼食会終了後、知事は、記者団に対し、「今年4月にコーツ委員長、ギラディ副委員長がいらした時に、次来られるときは、東京産の食材でおもてなししようということで、今日用意させていただきました。皆さん喜ばれて、これだけの食材が豊富だということに感激されて帰って行かれたので、本当に良かったと思います」と話しました。昼食会では、トウキョウXや東京しゃもをはじめ、東京産の野菜や果物、魚などをふんだんに使用した料理が提供されました。
On Thursday, June 26, the second day of the first meeting with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission for the Tokyo 2020 Games, Governor Masuzoe hosted a luncheon featuring Tokyo’s locally sourced produce.
After the luncheon, the governor told reporters that “When Mr. Coates and Mr. Gilady, the chair and vice-chair of the commission, came to Japan in April, I told them we will serve dishes with Tokyo’s local ingredients next time, so we prepared those foods today. I am glad that the participants enjoyed the meal, and were impressed with the wide variety of ingredients Tokyo has to offer.” The luncheon featured dishes that made full use of local ingredients, such as Tokyo X brand pork, “Tokyo shamo” chicken, vegetables, fruits and seafood.
