Applications now being accepted for service robot trial
Part of the Showcasing of Advanced Technology Project for the Tokyo 2020 Games

To make the Tokyo 2020 Games the most innovative ever held, in preparation for the event, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government launched the Showcasing of Advanced Technology Project this fiscal year.
The purpose of this project is to promote the future vision of Tokyo and Japan’s technological capabilities, which support that future, to the world by showcasing a new social implementation model using robots with advanced technologies.
By establishing social implementation model demonstration locations/fields in Tokyo, enabling robots to coexist with humans and provide services, this project aims to show Japan and the world how Tokyo works to resolve its social challenges, including securing labor, enhancing transportation methods, and developing an environment to welcome foreign tourists.
Therefore, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government seeks robots to be used in trials as follows.

1. Project Overview

NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting, Inc., which the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has entrusted with the task of promoting the project, will recruit applications for robots that will contribute to solving Tokyo’s challenges to be tested, select multiple robots for each demonstration location/field, and provide support for trials. Based on results obtained through the trials, along with verifying the impact of introducing the robot technology, effectiveness, and challenges related to social implementation, the organizers will also promote this trial and advanced initiatives in Japan and abroad.
