Bureau of Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 Preparation
Names selected for the Tokyo 2020 Volunteers
From 12 December 2018 to 20 January 2019, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) called on volunteer applicants to vote on the naming of the Tokyo 2020 Games volunteers and staff and City volunteers.
The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games recently announced that “Field Cast” and “City Cast” were selected for the Tokyo 2020 Games volunteers and staff and City volunteers, respectively.
Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike made the following comments concerning this decision.

The names for the Tokyo 2020 Games volunteers and City volunteers were decided as Field Cast and City Cast, based on the ballots cast by Games and City volunteer applicants.
I am very hopeful that the volunteers will grow fond of this naming and that the names become widely recognized both within and outside Japan.
Along with the athletes, the volunteers will be the main players of the Tokyo 2020 Games. The City volunteers, especially, will serve as the important face of the host city.
The TMG will continue to work with the Organising Committee and all other relevant parties to thoroughly prepare for the Games, and will devote full efforts to ensure that the event is a memorable one for people all around the world.
