The Tokyo Marunouchi Station Plaza and Gyoko-dori Avenue Wins “Good Design Gold Award 2018”

The Tokyo Marunouchi Station Plaza and Gyoko-dori Avenue, jointly developed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and East Japan Railway Company, won the Good Design Gold Award (Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award) 2018.
The Good Design Gold Award is bestowed on an especially outstanding design selected from among the Good Design Best 100.
The landscape from Tokyo Marunouchi Station Plaza to Gyoko-dori Avenue was highly evaluated for, among others, forming an integrated space that highlighted the landscape from a large pedestrian space in front of the station to the Imperial Palace, creating a stately area befitting the “face” of Japan’s capital of Tokyo and providing a new place for people to gather.
