Dear Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama,

I was deeply shocked by the tragic news from Jakarta. Such acts of terrorism are impermissible.
As the leader of Tokyo, a friendship city of Jakarta, and on behalf of the citizens of Tokyo, I pray for all the victims and express my sincere condolences to their families. Tokyo stands with Jakarta.
