As autumn deepens in central Tokyo, why not visit the Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens? You can enjoy programs ranging from the Japanese tea ceremony to traditional performances in a setting surrounded by beautiful foliage.

About the Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens

A government-designated special historic site and special place of scenic beauty, the Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens was originally the garden of a separate residence of Mito Yorifusa, the founder of the Mito branch of the Tokugawa shogunate clan, constructed in 1629. His son, Mito Mitsukuni, later named the garden "Korakuen (literally, later-fun-garden)," which came from a Chinese saying, "Those in power should worry about the nation earlier than the people do and should have a fun later than the people do."

Adult: 300 yen Senior (ages 65+): 150 yen
Primary school age or younger: Free of charge

From 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sat, Sun, Mon, and national holidays
Held every day during the “Enjoy Autumn Foliage” period (about 60 minutes)
Participants are asked to assemble at Weeping Cherry Square. Free of charge.
