「JENESYS2.0」中国青年代表団の表敬訪問
The JENESYS 2.0 Chinese youth delegation visits the governor
平成26（2014）年8月27日（水曜）、都庁を訪れた「JENESYS2.0」中国青年代表団一行と面会しました。
知事は、今年4月に都知事として18年ぶりに北京市を訪問したことに触れながら、「PM2.5をはじめとする環境問題、交通渋滞、上水道・下水道の問題、高齢化社会の介護、医療福祉の問題について、北京と東京の経験を相互に活かしながら、協力関係を進めたいと思います。皆さん方の多くは日本が初めてだと思いますけど、日本の良いところを満喫して、皆さん日本を好きになって日中関係の改善のために汗をかいていただきたいと思います」と挨拶しました。
「JENESYS2.0」は、日本政府がアジア大洋州諸国との間で実施する3万人規模の青少年交流事業。事業を通じ、日本経済の再生に向けて、日本に対する潜在的な関心を増進させ、訪日外国人の増加を図るとともに、クールジャパンを含めた日本の強みや魅力等の日本ブランド、日本的な「価値」への国際理解を増進させることを目指す。（日本政府が2007年から実施した「JENESYS（21世紀東アジア青少年大交流計画）」の後継事業）
On Wednesday, August 27, the JENESYS 2.0 Chinese youth delegation paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.
Touching on his April visit to Beijing, the first in 18 years for a governor of Tokyo, Governor Masuzoe greeted the group saying, “With respect to issues such as the environment, including air quality and PM 2.5, traffic congestion, waterworks and sewerage, caring for the elderly in a graying society, and medical welfare, while mutually utilizing each other’s expertise, I hope to advance the cooperative relationship between Beijing and Tokyo. For many of you, I think this is your first time in Japan. I hope that you will fully enjoy what Japan has to offer, discover that you like Japan, and contribute to improving Japan-China relations.”
The Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS 2.0) is a youth exchange program conducted by the Japanese government with the countries of Asia and Oceania on a scale of approximately 30,000 participants. Working to revitalize Japan’s economy, the central government aims to increase potential interest in Japan, as well as the number of foreign visitors, while also promoting greater global understanding of the strengths and attractions, including Cool Japan, that form the “Japan Brand” and Japanese values. (This program is the successor to the JENESYS program (21st Century East Asia Youth Exchange Project) which was conducted by the Japanese government from 2007 to 2012.)
