駐日カナダ大使が知事を訪問
Canada’s ambassador visits the governor
平成26（2014）年8月25日（月曜）、都庁を訪れたマッケンジー・クラグストン 駐日カナダ大使と面会しました。
知事は、「カナダとは、非常に友好的な関係にあり、モントリオール大会を開催したオリンピックの先輩ですので、2020年の我々の大会にも是非ご協力願いたい。また、カナダは英語もフランス語も公用語ですし、非常に多様な言語、多様な文化への対応に慣れていると思います。私たちも諸外国の皆様をお迎えしたいので、そういうホスピタリティを教えていただきたい」と話しました。
On Monday, August 26, H.E. Mr. Mackenzie Clugston, Ambassador of Canada to Japan, paid a courtesy call on the governor.
The governor greeted the ambassador saying, “Japan’s relationship with Canada is a very friendly one. Having held the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal, we respect Canada’s experience hosting the Games, and hope that you will support the 2020 Games that we will host. Furthermore, both English and French are the official languages of Canada. And, I believe that Canada is adept at accommodating a very wide range of languages and cultures. I hope that Canada will teach us about this type of hospitality.”
