駐日大韓民国大使が知事を訪問
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea visits the governor
平成26（2014）年5月22日（木曜）、舛添知事は、都庁を訪れた李 丙琪（イ・ビョンギ）駐日大韓民国大使と面会しました。
知事は、韓国で発生した旅客船沈没事故の犠牲者を追悼するため、先般の駐日大韓民国大使館領事部における献花に続き、面会の冒頭、改めてお悔やみを述べました。 それに対して、李大使からは感謝の意が示されました。
会談のなかで知事は、「ソウルと東京は、1988年以来友好都市関係でありますので、都市外交を積極的に進めたいと思います」と話しました。
On Thursday, May 22, H.E. Mr. Lee Byung-kee, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Japan, paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.
The governor, who visited the consular affairs department of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea earlier this month to lay flowers in memory of the victims of the recent ferry accident, again offered his condolences at the beginning of the meeting. The ambassador expressed his gratitude.
During the meeting, Governor Masuzoe said, “I hope to actively promote city-to-city diplomacy between Seoul and Tokyo, which have been friendship cities since 1988.”
