Bureau of Transportation, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Begins Multilingual Guidance for Emergencies and Delays

~Promoting Safety and Peace of Mind for International Visitors~

The Bureau of Transportation, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, has introduced a multilingual announcement system which alerts international visitors of emergencies and delays on Toei Subway lines and the Nippori-Toneri Liner in an effort to promote safety and peace of mind. The announcements will be triggered by station attendants using tablets in the event of an accident or disaster.

The system was introduced on April 28, 2017

2) Supported Languages

Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean

3) Announcements

Information on train delays, emergencies (natural disasters, etc.), public service announcements

4) Participating Train Stations

Nippori Station and Nishi-Nippori Station (Nippori-Toneri Liner), and all stations on the Toei Subway excluding Oshiage Station (Asakusa Line), Meguro Station (Mita Line), Shirokanedai Station (Mita Line), Shirokane-Takanawa Station (Mita Line), Shinjuku Station (Shinjuku Line).
