Message of condolence sent to the Mayor of Paris
The following message of condolence was sent by Governor Masuzoe to Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo.

Madame la Maire,
Je ne peux pas m’empêcher d'être immensément choqué par les actes terroristes survenus à Paris. Ces attentats sont d'autant plus inacceptables qu'ils frappent des citoyens au moment où ils appréciaient des moments de détente, autour du sport et de la musique, symboles de paix. Au nom des citoyens de Tokyo, je tiens à exprimer mes sincères condoléances à toutes les victimes et leurs familles.
Il est notre devoir commun de protéger la vie quotidienne de nos concitoyens et d'assurer leur sécurité. En tant que représentant d'une des grandes métropoles du monde au même titre que Paris, je souhaite vous témoigner de ma plus profonde solidarité.
Tokyo se tient aux côtés de Paris et de la France.

Dear Mayor Hidalgo,
I am deeply shocked by the tragic news from Paris. It is heartbreaking to imagine the fear and sorrow that have overtaken citizens who were enjoying sport and music—symbols of peace. Such acts of terrorism are impermissible. On behalf of the citizens of Tokyo, I pray for all the victims and express my sincere condolences to their families.
As we are both leaders of major cities, entrusted with upholding the safety and peaceful lives of our citizens, I would like to express my heartfelt solidarity with you.
Tokyo stands with Paris and France.
