“Employment Consultation Center” opened in the Tokyo Area National Strategic Special Zone.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) advancing various efforts to draw more investment, talent, and firms to Tokyo by creating the most business-friendly environment in the world, utilizing the National Strategic Special Zone system.
As a part of these efforts, the TMG is pleased to announce that Employment Consultation Center was established in the Tokyo Area National Strategic Special Zone under the National Strategic Special Zones Act. This Center supports startups and companies expanding into Japan from overseas by helping them to properly understand Japanese employment regulations and smoothly develop their business here. The center will also urge companies to reduce long work hours and ensure employment stability to allow their employees to increase their motivation at work and show their abilities.

(1) Consultation and support regarding Japanese general labor laws
Lawyers and certified social insurance and labor consultants provide consultation services concerning general labor laws.
Consultation hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm.
(Excluding national holidays, year-end and New Year’s holidays [Dec. 29 – Jan. 3])
(2) One-on-one consultation provided by a lawyer concerning issues required a high-level of expertise
Lawyers provide one-on-one consultation services whether labor management and labor contracts meet employment guidelines, etc.
(3) Visit and instruction conducted by a lawyer or a certified social insurance and labor consultant
According to companies’request, lawyers or certified social insurance and labor consultants visit companies such as global companies and provide guidance and advice on appropriate labor management and other matters in accordance with the actual conditions at the companies.
