Multilingual Guide Service Commences in Hamarikyu Gardens
Explore the park using ubiquitous technology

January 18, 2010
Bureau of Construction

The Bureau of Construction will be introducing a guide service provided through handheld information terminals, called ubiquitous communicators, at Hamarikyu Gardens. This service has thus far been implemented at the Ueno Zoological Gardens. Visitors from both Japan and abroad will be able to receive explanations through images and audio about the features of Hamarikyu Gardens, which is a leading example of traditional Japanese gardens.
Please come and enjoy a new way to appreciate the garden and its history dating back to the early 19th century.

Through illustrations and photos from the past, a variety of information from tips on best seasons to view flowers to the dietary habits of the Shogun generals can be enjoyed while also appreciating the scenery before you.
The ubiquitous communicator can be rented free of charge, and provides services in Chinese (simplified and traditional), English, Korean, and Japanese.
