On Wednesday, March 23, a Brazilian delegation from the Juntos!! Program to Promote Understanding Between Latin America and the Caribbean and Japan visited Governor Masuzoe.

The Juntos!! program is an invitational program run by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the objective of strengthening ties between Japan and Latin America by having participants gain a deeper understanding of Japan. For promising individuals expected to contribute to enhancing relations with Japan in a range of fields, the program creates opportunities to learn about Japan’s foreign policy toward Latin America, tradition, the latest technology, and other subjects. The word “juntos” means “together” in Portuguese. The group of ten that visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government this time included members of state assemblies in Brazil.

Along with extending his wishes for the success of the Rio 2016 Games, the governor said, “Through this visit, I look forward to the relationship between Japan and Brazil growing even stronger!”
