WHO’s Regional Director for the Western Pacific visits the governor
On Monday, August 31, Dr. Shin Young-soo, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Regional Director for the Western Pacific, met with Governor Masuzoe.
The governor expressed his gratitude for WHO’s support in combatting infectious diseases in Asia. Noting that the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held during a very hot season, the governor requested the WHO’s cooperation in ensuring the health of the many athletes and visitors who will attend from around the world. He also said he wished to continue collaborating with neighboring Asian countries to improve public health in the region.
