China Teenage Ambassador delegation visits Governor Masuzoe

On Friday, July 11, the governor welcomed a delegation of youth ambassadors from China. The Japan-China Teenage Ambassador program is a mutual exchange of high school students between the two countries. The exchange is one of several programs supported by the AEON 1% Club, a General Incorporated Foundation. The foundation's programs, which aim to give back to society, promote activities such as environmental conservation and international cultural and student exchanges. This time, the group of China Teenage Ambassadors, made up of about thirty Beijing high school students, paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.

The governor briefly touched on his recent visit to Beijing in April, and then encouraged students saying, "Allowing young people like yourselves to get to know Japan first-hand, and then having young people from Japan get to know China first-hand-these types of efforts will form the foundation that will improve future Japan-China relations. As representatives of China's youth, I hope that you will approach your stay in Japan with the understanding that the future of our two countries rests with your generation, and make it a meaningful one. Please enjoy your time in Japan to the fullest."
